back to reality..

The weather finally allowed us to go back to school today :( I guess the multiple days off couldn't last forever. Here are some things that made me smile today even though I was back at work...

Today was yet another snow day! This has been a wonderful month of no school... we have actually only been twice in almost 2 weeks. I've gotten pretty spoiled by staying at home, going out to lunch and just hanging out while still getting a pay check :) Today I decided to quilt some. It's a project I started this summer with Chris. I am making a school house quilt that, if I can ever finish, will be super cute (and will conveniently match my new living room colors) It was very refreshing to work on it today instead of worrying about lesson plans or other school related things. Everyone else seems to be pretty sick of the snow but I could do this for another month and be perfectly happy!!
Here are the school houses in their 4 different colors... I still have a few more to piece together then I can put them all together to make a real quilt!

After being snowed in for 3 days and getting nothing really accomplished when the forecast was calling for another foot of snow starting Thursday night I went to Kroger (and witnessed a 30 year old man and 60 year old woman get into a screaming match..yikes!) , Pier 1 for some inspiring throw pillows and Lowes for paint and supplies.
School was out on Friday and I spent the whole day painting and enjoying the snow! This has been the best winter.. nothing beats a snow day :)

Well I now have internet at home! The few weeks since my last post have been very eventful. Some life changing some not. Most importantly Tim and I broke up. It was extremely hard for me to do but I know in the end it was the right thing and only thing for me to do. I want so badly to be in love and be with someone who loves me more than anything else in the world and Tim didn't. Elizabeth and Mary have been amazing friends to me and Troy has been super caring.

We have also had another big snow storm. It came Saturday, closed church on Sunday and schools on Monday and Tuesday and now I am hoping for Wednesday since it is still coming down. It has proved to be very peaceful and beautiful. I do love cuddling up on the couch with Ginger and having an excuse to stay inside and watch T.V.
